Virtual Broadband Remote Access Server is designed for ISPs to manage subscriber connectivity at scale. It provides authentication & authorization of subscribers, routing & traffic management, policy enforcement for QoS, bandwidth, and access control.
vBRAS: Virtual Broadband Remote Access Server
xFlow Research has developed a virtualized B-RAS solution to help ISPs scale efficiently while avoiding vendor lock-in and reducing costs. Unlike traditional hardware B-RAS systems, our vBRAS runs on standard x86 servers, delivering flexibility, high performance, and lower capital/operational expenses.
Why vBRAS?
- Subscriber management – authentication, authorization, and routing
- Policy enforcement – QoS, bandwidth control, filtering, and application-specific policies
- Cost-efficient scaling – no reliance on expensive, vendor-locked hardware
- Built-in DPI – identify/block unwanted services while maintaining performance
Features
Our vBRAS has been tested with a local ISP partner and is designed to help service providers cut costs, gain flexibility, and deliver value-added services to end-users.
- HQoS, interface virtualization, policy enforcement
- Authentication/authorization with IP & time-based accounting
- VLAN support, IP address management, error logging & reporting
- Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) for application-level control
Protocols Supported
PPPoE, LACP, OSPF, BGP, SNMP, CGNAT, PAP/CHAP, RADIUS, IPv4/IPv6 (DSLite, NAT444, Dual Stack, DNS64), IS-IS, NTP
